Alpine Inn - 8576 Highway 226A, Little Switzerland, NC 28752 - 828 765 5380 - Along the mountaintops of Little Switzerland in North Carolina, we found an amazing little place that we think you will love. This small, historical inn has an incredible view and offers a quiet and beautiful experience that we cannot wait to repeat. To see our video about the Alpine Inn, click here. Amelia Island Brewing Company - 316 Centre St, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034 - (904) 310 6088 - Amelia Island Brewing Company is a local favorite offering delicious meals and a deep variety of locally made beverages, including many that are made on site. Amelia Island Lighthouse - 215 O’Hagan Lane, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034 - (904) 310-3350 - This lighthouse was built in 1838 and is the state’s oldest lighthouse. You’ll find it in a small seaside community neighborhood on a small plot. Access is limited and varying. Public viewing is currently available each Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and tours are only available by reservations on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. Beaches Town Center - 200 First St, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233 - (904) 241 1026 - This beach side area in Neptune Beach is a great place for shopping and eating. There are dozens of great shops and restaurants in a relatively small area. First Street literally runs right into the sand which is a reminder that this area is literally right on the ocean. Big Talbot Island - State Road A1A North Jacksonville FL 32226 - (904) 251-2320 - Big Talbot Island is a state park that runs along the Atlantic Ocean in NE Florida. It is a gorgeous place to visit and a photographers dream. Several miles of beach are covered in downed, whitewashed trees that create a unique and beautiful landscape. Bryce Canyon National Park - Highway 63, Bryce, UT 84764 - (435) 834 5322 - Before we visited Bryce Canyon, I had never heard of it. When we stepped into the park, I could not believe what I was seeing. Bryce Canyon has some of the most unusual imagery I’ve ever seen. Cape Hatteras - Cape Hatteras is one of the most popular places to visit in North Carolina’s Outer Banks. This is in part because it is fully accessible by car without the need for a ferry. There are many vacation homes in this area and one of the most popular places to visit is the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. To see a video that includes time we spent there, click here. Fernandina Beach Historical Downtown District - 300 Centre St, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034 - (904) 310-3480 - Centre Street begins on the west end at the water’s edge with boat ramps, docks, restaurants and stores and continues east. The historic district extends more than half a mile and is a great place to spend the day. To see a video including our time in this area, click here. Froggy Dog - 40050 NC Highway 12, Avon, NC 27915 - (252) 995 5550 - The Froggy Dog is a local favorite in the Outer Banks about a half an hour north of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. We stopped there for burgers and fried pickles on the patio before heading to the Wright Brothers Museum. To see a video including our time there, click here. To visit their website, click here.

Grand Canyon National Park, North Rim Lodge - End of Highway 67, Grand Canyon National Park, AZ 86052 - The vast majority of visitors to the Grand Canyon visit the south side. For those who manage to make it to the north rim, there awaits a magnificent lodge sitting right along the edge of the canyon with a view that is beyond words. The lodge has two large seating decks where people sit back, prop up their feet and take in the amazing views while sipping a cold beverage. The crowds are minimal in comparison to what you would experience on the south rim and this lower volume gives visitors more isolated access to viewpoints, decks and trails. Harker’s Island/Cape Lookout National Seashore - 131 Charles St Harker’s Island, NC 28531 - Harker’s Island is at the south end of the Outer Banks. It is accessible by bridge and is where you want to be if you are looking to visit the Cape Lookout Lighthouse as ferries to this lighthouse leave from the far east end of Harker’s Island. Jacksonville Beach - Jacksonville has a really great beach with something for everyone. The beach is firm enough that distance runners are often seen here and the waves are high enough that surfers are a daily staple. There are miles of white sand beach available and one of the most popular portions is near the Jacksonville Pier. If you enjoy piers, Jacksonville has one of the longest ones we’ve ever seen. Jacksonville Naval Museum - 610 E Bay St, Jacksonville, FL 32202 - (904) 789 7447 - In Downtown Jacksonville, along the St. John’s river, you’ll find a World War II era destroyer docked and ready for visitors. It’s the USS Orleck and its the staple of the newly opened Jacksonville Naval Musuem. To see a video including this, click here. To visit the official website, click here.

Jacksonville Zoo - 370 Zoo Parkway, Jacksonville, Florida, 32218 - (904) 757-4463 - Jacksonville has a great zoo and we really enjoy it. They have done a good job of laying things out in such a way that don’t feel crowded while keeping things shaded and covered; that is especially helpful in summertime. Hot Springs Off Road Park - 2100 Mill Creek Rd, Hot Springs, AR 71901 - (501) 625 3600 - The Hot Springs Off Road Park is a huge tract of land offering dozens of off-road trails in Central Arkansas including 3 Jeep Badge of Honor Trails. Huguenot Beach Park - 10980 Heckscher Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32226 - (904) 255 4255 - Huguenot is Jacksonville’s northernmost beach and is a fantastic place to spend the day. You can drive on this beach which makes it a great place to tailgate right next to the water. This park has camping and shallow entry water which makes it great for young ones. Be sure to get there early as this place can fill up early and once they reach capacity, you will not be able to get in. To see a video about our time at this beach, click here. Little Talbot Island - 12157 Heckscher Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32226 - (904) 251 2320 - Little Talbot Island has a fantastic beach along Florida’s NE Atlantic coast. The beach is very wide and has extremely low traffic. We rode our bikes along this beach for nearly and hour and saw a grand total of 2 people. It has some of the downed, whitewashed trees that can be found at Big Talbot Island (see above) but for the most part, it is wide open, pristine Florida white sand. We absolutely love this place. Marlin & Barrel Distillery - 232 S 8th St, Fernandina, Fl 32034 - (904) 556-3837 - The Marlin & Barrel is a locally owned distillery in Fernandina. We visited them as they celebrated their 8th anniversary and spent time with the owner and founder, Roger Morenc. Mount Zion National Park - 1 Zion Park Blvd, Springdale, UT 84767 - (435) 772 3256 - Mount Zion is one of the most gorgeous places in all of the United States. Nature lovers flock to this amazing place to try and soak up as much of the beauty as they can. To see a video including our time in Mount Zion, click here. Ocracoke Island - Ocracoke is an island near the south end of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. It is accessed by ferries that run several times a day. On the south end of the island is a ferry landing and a small town filled with restaurants, stores and places to stay. You can also visit the Ocracoke Lighthouse in that area. On the north end of the island is another ferry landing and mid island you can find the Ocracoke Campground. To see a video including time we spent on Ocracoke, click here. Oregon Inlet Campground - 12001 NC-12, Nags Head, NC 27959 - (252) 475 9018 - Oregon Inlet Campground is located in North Carolina’s Outer Banks and is a great place to stay if you are visiting that area. Southeastern Expeditions - 7350 Hwy 76 E, Clayton, GA 30525 - (800) 868-7238 - Southeastern Expeditions offers white water rafting in Northeast Georgia. For more than 50 years, they’ve taken out nature lovers and thrill seekers on the Chattooga River for fun in the sun and amazing experiences. St. John’s River Taxi - (904) 860 8294 - We did a sunset cruise on the St. John’s River through downtown Jacksonville with the St. John’s River Taxi and absolutely loved it. They meet on the southside of the river, near friendship fountain, and take riders for an unforgettable ride to watch the sun going down. To see a video including our sunset cruise, click here. Sweet Pete’s Candy - 400 N Hogan St, Jacksonville, FL 32202 - 904 643 4172 - Sweet Pete’s is a local favorite for families and couples in Jacksonville. Their candy factory is open to the public daily and offers tremendous storefronts and even a tour of the candy making process. You can create your own concoctions or shop for the perfect sweet to go. Trackrock Campground & Cabins - 141 Trackrock Camp Rd, Blairsville, GA 30512 - (706) 745-2420 - Trackrock is one of our all-time favorite campgrounds and a place we go out of our way to visit when we are in north Georgia. It’s a family owned and operated facility with tons of highly shaded sites and several really nice cabins.
